An unidentified woman has been hospitalized after she jumped off the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Harold Frear said at just before 11 a.m., the woman jumped from the lower portion of the Manatee side of the bridge into Tampa Bay. The woman survived the jump and was pulled from the water apparently without injury.

Troopers will hospitalize the woman under the Baker Act, Frear said. She will also be taken to the hospital to be evaluated for any possible injury, he said. The woman's age and name have not been released.
