Freshman Melissa Johnson continues to hit big for Saint Stephen’s.

An outside/right middle hitter, Johnson had 34 kills in four matches during the Falcons’ victory during last weekend’s tournament in Fort Pierce.

Johnson is averaging more than 14 kills per match and nearly three per game this year for Saint Stephen’s (17-4).

MCDONALD UPDATE

Manatee alum Courtney McDonald has appeared in 12 games at Auburn.

She has eight blocks, seven kills, one assist and three digs for Auburn, which is 11-5 overall and 3-2 in the Southeastern Conference.

DISTRICTS ARE COMING

District tournaments begin Oct. 26, with local schools Bayshore and Out-of-Door Academy playing host to two of the tourneys.

The top two finishers in each district tournament advance to the regional playoffs, which begin Nov. 3 and 4. District champions play host while runner-up from each district goes on the road.
