The Tampa Bay Rays exercised the $10 million club option on left fielder Carl Crawford on Monday and declined options on left-handed reliever Brian Shouse and catcher Gregg Zaun.

Crawford, the longest-tenured player in team history, will be a free agent after the 2010 season unless the Rays sign him to a long-term deal or trade him during the season. Crawford said he is open to signing a long-term contract with the Rays.

Zaun, 38, who was due $2 million if the club picked up his option, said before the season ended that he is open to returning to the Rays for less money.

Shouse, 41, was made expandable because of his $2 million option and because of the emergence of left-hander Randy Choate.
