A 7th grader at Bradenton Christian School was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg on Monday after sustaining a head and/or neck injury during football practice.
The student fell backward while participating in a drill and bounced his head on the ground, according to BCS principal Kel Cunard.
Emergency medical services were called to the school. The EMS technicians decided to call Bayflight.
“He had feeling and movement everywhere,” Cunard said. “It was a wise precaution to go with, and we just hope and pray he’s OK.”
