MANATEE — Heavy rains this week have pushed local rivers to the flood stage, according to the National Weather Service.

At flood stage are Myakka Head, Manatee River at Rye Bridge, and the Little Manatee River at Wimauma.

Lake Manatee is at full level, and some water is being discharged.

Water levels are expected to recede toward the weekend.

On Wednesday, Tampa International Airport recorded 4.72 inches, a new record for the day.

At Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, 2.31 inches fell on Wednesday, following 1.28 inches of rainfall on Tuesday. One-third inch fell today.
