Cafe Seven opens in Palmetto

What's New

Café Seven opens in Palmetto

"It's funny how you can live so close to a town and not know anything about it," says Ginnie Hadlock, owner of Café Seven, a brand new restaurant and catering business in Palmetto.

"I grew up in Bradenton and hadn't really explored Palmetto until I opened Café Seven. Now I love being here. I like to walk along the tree-lined streets and enjoy fishing off the Green Bridge. I'm even thinking of moving to Palmetto!"

Café Seven is Ginnie's first business. She worked as a restaurant manager for years, but never thought she'd open her own place. "I never liked cooking," she admits. "Then I began to try new things, got addicted to the Food Network, started catering family events, and finally bought this place and opened my own restaurant!"

Café Seven, at 727 7th Street West in Palmetto, serves lunch from 10:30 to 2:30, offering delicious soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and paninis. There's seven of every item on the menu, and all prices end in seven.

For catering, Ginnie expertly prepares any type of cuisine, simple or elaborate. She caters weddings, birthday parties, business events, you name it. One of her favorite specialties is making pre-cooked dinners for busy people, who, after giving Ginnie advance notice, stop in to pick up dinner and then just heat it up at home.

Ginnie's husband Chad and 8-year-old daughter Lexie, have been very supportive of her new enterprise. "If I didn't have my family and friends I don't know how I'd have done it. I'm very lucky."
