Although tough economic times are causing uncertainty for many people across the country, customers at Century Bank can rest easy, knowing that their bank offers full FDIC insurance and has the resources necessary to meet the needs of its customers.

A recent letter from bank president John P. ONeill sought to reassure customers about the long-term viability of Century Bank. “While current market conditions have certainly created some challenges, we remain well-capitalized with ample resources for business loans, real estate loans, and other financing options,” he said.

Thanks to the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, all individual deposit accounts are now insured by the FDIC for up to $250,000; this increased coverage is guaranteed through December 31, 2009. That means a married couple could have as much as $2 million of insured deposits at one bank, with the proper planning.

“We have quite a few customers asking questions about the banking industry these days,” said Diane Barrie, branch manager of the Parrish location. “We take the time to address each person’s concerns and we will continue to provide the same reliable, friendly service that we always have.”

Century Bank has been a part of the local community for nearly a quarter of a century and has nine branch locations. Employees take pride in providing personalized service to each and every customer. Century Bank is a full-service bank, with a complete portfolio of personal and business banking products, as well as commercial and mortgage lending services.
