B.J. Upton went 2-for-2 with a double and a triple and drove in two runs, as the Tampa Bay Rays edged the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-5.
Scott Munter gave up three hits and one run in two innings to pick up the win for the Rays. Andy Cannizaro finished 2-for-3 with an RBI for Tampa.
Raul Chavez went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and two RBI for the Pirates, who collected 11 hits but left 10 runners on base. Tom Gorzelanny started and tossed one scoreless inning for Pittsburgh, but Paul Maholm gave up five hits and three runs in two innings and was tagged with the loss.
