- Know your lens implant options and have your surgeon help you decide which would be better for you and your lifestyle. Today you have more choices than ever before.

In addition to the standard lens implants, there are premium lens implants that reduce the need for reading and distance glasses after surgery, those that will correct astigmatism, and even implants that will enhance night driving vision.

- Make sure your cataract surgery will be performed in a surgery center that is exclusively and specialty trained to work with eyes. Being cared for by staff that is well trained in your procedure is an important safety factor.

- Find out what kind of anesthesia you will be receiving. Today you have the option of receiving eye drop anesthesia, therefore eliminating the need for needle injections.

- Make sure that you, the patient, are deciding when to have cataract surgery. Only you know when your vision has decreased to the extent where your lifestyle and safety are inhibited.

- Attend a FREE cataract seminar to learn more about cataracts, the symptoms, and your surgical options. The Eye Associates hosts weekly FREE Cataract Seminars for the public. Call 941-792-2020 for dates and locations.
