Come see our gardens that demonstrate well the main principles
of Florida Friendly Yards - “the right plant in the right place.” Take a short
stroll to view your favorite garden setting. Just follow the dots!

• COUNTRY STYLE with pond and wildlife attractions
• SHADE with examples of shade loving plants & flowers like
bromeliads, native coffee, & impatiens
• KITCHEN with herbs and vegetables for kitchen use
• BEACH which high drought and salt tolerant plants growing in high pH soils
• EAST COUNTY where plants are mostly cold-hardy and prefer a lower soil pH.
• MID-COUNTY with plants that are less cold-hardy than those in the eastern garden and the plants
tolerate a wide range of soil pH.

Visit displays of hand-illustrated rain barrels, low irrigation models and
composting equipment.
Gather information from tables filled with materials from the University of
Florida Agricultural Sciences on garden practices and procedures, plant
identification, native plants and exotic invasives.
Talk with a Master Gardener about landscape consultation, any gardening
struggles, yard recognition, and most of all ENJOY this opportunity and
take home a free annual flower to grow and help make Manatee County
beautiful and sustainable!
