HEADLINE: Roadwork to avoid

15th Street East at 26th Avenue East: A project to install turn lanes, drainage and signals is forecast to begin in early 2008.

17th Street East, Palmetto: A project to widen the road and add bike lanes, sidewalks, street lighting and drainage improvements between U.S. 41 and Canal Road is slated to commence in early 2008.

17th Street West, Palmetto: A project to widen the road and add bike lanes, sidewalks, street lighting and drainage improvements between U.S. 41 and Eighth Avenue West is expected to begin in mid-2008.

38th Avenue West at 51st Street West: Work to reconstruct and signalize the intersection likely will start in mid-2008.

Cortez Road West: An $832,000 project to modify median openings, extend turn lanes and upgrade a traffic signal between 28th and 56th streets west is expected to start in March 2008 and be completed within four months.

I-275: Two projects to resurface the 4.2 miles between the Terra Ceia River to the Hillsborough County line is expected to begin between mid-2008 and mid-2009.

I-75/I-275 interchange: An estimated $14.6 million project to replace bridge decking is forecast to begin between mid-2008 and mid-2009.

I-75: An estimated $4.8 million resurfacing project between Mendoza and Moccasin Wallow roads is slated to start between mid-2008 and mid-2009.

State Road 62: The state plans to resurface the road between Gamble Creek and State Road 37 beginning in mid-2008 to mid-2009. The 12.5-mile project is broken into two phases and is expected to cost a combined $14.4 million.

State Road 64: A $26 million project to widen the road between Lena Road and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard is expected to begin in November 2007 and take two years.

State Road 64/Manatee Avenue West: A $4.7 million project to resurface the 2.5-mile section between Palma Sola Bay and 43rd Street West is expected to start between mid-2008 and mid-2009.

Tara Boulevard: Work to extend the road over the Braden River to connect with Honore Avenue is expected to start in early 2008.

State Road 64/Manatee Avenue West at 67th Street West: A project to modify the intersection is forecasted to start between mid-2008 and mid-2009.

U.S. 41 at 23rd Street East, Palmetto: A project to install turn lanes and traffic signals is expected to begin in early 2008.

U.S. 41: A $2.8 million resurfacing project between Cortez Road and 63rd Avenue West is forecasted to begin by mid-2008.

U.S. 301: An estimated $2.9 million project to resurface the road from north of Old Tampa Road/Erie Road to State Road 62 is expected to start between mid-2008 and mid-2009.
