Power Florida Power & Light:

Florida Power & Light serves customers in the city of Bradenton, Anna Maria Island and some portions of unincorporated Manatee County. To hook up power in a residence, visit www.fpl.com or call (941) 917-0708. Business owners should call (800) 375-2434.

Peace River Electric Cooperative:

Peace River serves about 17,000 residents in Manatee County and operates in a 10-county area from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic. It is constructing a new substation in Lakewood Ranch and plans substations in the Parrish and Dam Road areas in about two years. A nonprofit, Peace River is owned by its local customers. Natural Gas:

TECO/People’s Gas Systems provides natural gas hookups to residents in metropolitan Bradenton, Palmetto and some rural areas. Call (877) 832-6747 for information. Television The three largest companies providing cable service to the area are Bright House Networks, Verizon and Comcast Cable. Bright House Networks: It serves the city of Bradenton and unincorporated Manatee County. Call (941) 748-3816 for information. Bright House Networks also provides cable service to Anna Maria Island. Residents should call (941) 748-1822 for service interruptions.

Verizon FiOS TV:

It now offers its fiber optic cable service to 30,000 customers in Manatee County. To see if you are eligible for the service, call (800) 880-2941 or visit www.verizonfios.com.

Comcast Cablevision:

For more information, visit www.comcast.com or call Comcast customer service at 888-COMCAST. Internet Bright House Networks: It provides Internet access to residents. For service, call (941) 748-1822.

Verizon:

Verizon provides DSL or FiOS Internet service. Not everyone is eligible for FiOS service, however. To see if you are eligible, call (888) 933-3331.
