Favorite spot: Shopping at the mall, or out visiting friends. Why I live in Manatee: I’ve been raised here, my family lives here — all those close family ties. And I like that it’s still kind of small, not a big city. Favorite pastime: Going to the movies and plays.

Why I live in Manatee: I grew up here and I love the community and the environment I was a part of and still am today. Favorite pastime: Working out either at home or at Southeast High School.

Favorite spot: Sitting on Manatee Beach, watching the waves and the pretty girls. Why I live in Manatee: I love the people here and the weather and it’s great for family. Favorite pastime: Sitting outside watching my kids play.
JESSICA HAAS Age: 22 Occupation: Shake Pit server and Manatee County Civic and Convention Center office worker How do you live the Florida lifestyle: I love to do things with the family — go camping, play miniature golf and help with Manatee High’s marching band. Favorite spot: Emerson Point. Why I live in Manatee: It’s not too small and it’s close enough to get to Tampa or Orlando. Favorite pastime: Going to the movies.
MARLEY HENDERSON Age: 36 Occupation: Manatee Technical Institute secretary and waitress at El Greco in Sarasota. How do you live the Florida lifestyle: My boyfriend and I go boating all the time. Favorite spot: Zio’s on Wednesday night. Why I live in Manatee: After I came here at 13 I wanted to leave, but I found out I loved the beach too much. Favorite pastime: Doing things with my children.
JEANETTE KELLY Age: 64 Occupation: Retired educator volunteer How do you live the Florida lifestyle: I live relaxingly and quietly. No big fanfare. I’m not able to do much recreationally at the moment, but I keep my mind occupied by reading and keeping up with all my friends. Favorite spot: My home. Why I live in Manatee: It’s just big enough to have that big city, little city atmosphere. Favorite pastime: Shopping and meeting people.

Favorite spot: Waterlefe Golf Course. Why I live in Manatee: The wife and I came down here looking for jobs 12 years ago and fell in love with the area. ... NICK ZEC Age: 49 Occupation: Insurance and investment broker How do you live the Florida lifestyle: I try to be in the outdoors as much as possible and there isn’t a golf course around here I don’t love to play. Favorite spot: Any golf course with my buddies. Why I live in Manatee: You can’t beat the quality of life. Favorite pastime: Going to as many East Manatee Bulldogs, high school, Bucs and Gator football games as possible.
