Several people were injured when a Hillsborough County deputy with her emergency lights flashing tried to drive through an intersection.

The sheriff's office reports that Cpl. Tracey Reeves was responding to a burglary call Tuesday morning when a small car crashed into the passenger side of the deputy's cruiser.

Reeves, the other vehicle's driver and four passengers were all taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

A sheriff's office spokeswoman say a deputy driving with his or her emergency lights on generally has the right of way, but it wasn't clear if the other driver would be cited.
