LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Get ready for a small detour heading into Country Club West in Lakewood Ranch.

The Balmoral Gate entryway on Balmoral Boulevard is undergoing a paving project. Town Hall Operations Director Ryan Heise informed Community Development District 6 supervisors at their monthly workshop review meeting Monday paving stones at the entrance are being replaced.

New loop detectors for traffic control are being installed to detect vehicles approaching the gate.

Heise said he notified residents the inbound lane would be closed for several days and oversized vehicles would not be able to enter under the overhang.

The barrier arm will also be dismantled for several days while the loop detector is installed.

Motorists will be able to access the community via the guest lane where the barriers will be open to traffic.

"We will have several staff members at the median and at Lakewood Ranch Boulevard and Balmoral Boulevard to help direct traffic.

In addition to this, we have also alerted Legacy Boulevard Gate guards, and they are aware of the additional work going on," Heise told the group.

Supervisor Jane Bruyer said it was a good time to perform the repairs because many residents are gone for the summer and traffic is lighter.
