Staci Jenkins-Gillis, aggravated battery, tampering with evidence, no bond.

BRADENTON -- A 44-year-old woman stabbed a 31-year-old woman early Tuesday morning after an argument, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Two women left a residence in the 7600 block of 18th Avenue Northwest at 3:09 a.m. when they saw suspect Staci Jenkins-Gillis, according to a release. They told her she was not welcome, which started an argument.

Jenkins-Gillis eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the women several times in the right forearm, according to deputies.

The victim was immediately taken to Blake Medical Center, where she was taken directly to surgery, according to the release. Deputies said she is still being treated for her injuries as of 10 a.m.

Jenkins-Gillis fled the area in her vehicle. Deputies obtained her identity and a clothing description and located her at a nearby residence a short time later.

The suspect was arrested without incident and faces charges of aggravated battery and tampering with evidence. She is being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
