Sarasota Police find man at motel early Tuesday after issuing Silver Alert

SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Police Department found Enrique R. Becerra, 84, early Tuesday morning after issuing a Silver Alert for him Monday night.

Becerra was found safe and uninjured at a motel on South Tamiami Trail in the city of Sarasota at 12:30 a.m, according to police.

Before he was found, he was last seen at approximately at 3:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Novus Street and Shade Avenue walking with his walker, according to a police news release. A Silver Alert was issued at about 9 p.m.

Becerra suffers from possible dementia and he is diabetic and did not have his medication, according to the release.
