Sarasota police: Silver alert issued for 84-year-old Sarasota man

SARASOTA -- A silver alert for a missing Sarasota man was issued by the Sarasota Police Department Monday night. According to a report, the alert is for Enrique R. Becerra, 84, of Sarasota.

Becerra was reportedly last seen at 3:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Novus Street and Shade Avenue walking toward the Bahia Vista area with his walker. According to a news release, he was last seen wearing gray slacks, a brown polo shirt, and brown dress shoes. Becerra is described as Hispanic with a 5-foot-4 height and weighing at 193 lbs. He has salt and pepper hair and brown eyes, according to Sarasota police.

"Mr. Becerra suffers from possible dementia and he is diabetic and does not have his medication," the report states.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of ecerra is encouraged to call 911 or the Sarasota Police Department at 941-316-1199 immediately.
