— A man was cited after he crashed his bicycle into a parked Manatee County Sheriff's Office vehicle Saturday, officials said.

The marked canine patrol vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, was parked on the side of the road in the 5700 block of 11th Street East. Sometime around 4:30 p.m., Randall G. Lee, headed north on his bicycle and traveling about 20 mph, struck the rear driver's side taillight of the vehicle and fell to the pavement, a sheriff's report states.

Lee requested an ambulance take him to Manatee Memorial Hospital due to a scraped finger, according to the report. He was issued a traffic citation for failure to use due care.

Lee's bike was scratched up, while the Tahoe suffered a broken taillight and a scratch the the bumper. The total damage was $500, the report states.
