The Maine International Film Festival is hosting a "Making it in Maine Day" on Saturday. The 17th annual festival kicked off on Friday and will last for 10 days.

Among the events on Saturday is a round table forum for filmmakers, screenings of Maine-made films and an audition and workshop with Ernest Thompson, an Academy Award winner and the screenwriter for "On the Golden Pond."

Filmmakers can also attend a brunch where they can talk with representatives from organizations like the Maine Film Center and the Maine Arts Commission.
