Southern Manatee firefighters fall short in 'Good Morning America' video contest

Southern Manatee Fire Rescue entered "Good Morning America's" video contest called "5 Alarm Challenge Video Contest." This is their video, which will be featured this week on the program.


MANATEE -- The dancers from Southern Manatee Fire Rescue apparently have fallen short in the "Good Morning America's 5-Alarm Challenge.

As of 3 p.m., when voting closed Southern Manatee Fire Rescue had received 47 percent of the votes cast. Its rival, Gulf Shores (Ala.) Fire Rescue had received 53 percent.

The semifinalists were competing for one of three spots in next week's finals in New York City.

The winning team will receive $10,000.
