Manatee deputies name suspect in June robbery case

MANATEE -- Detectives have issued a warrant for the arrest of a suspect in connection with a June battery and armed robbery case, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, Chad Daniel Newhouse, 30, is currently being held at the Okaloosa County jail on two unrelated charges of battery, according to a release.

The victim was transported to a hospital for facial injuries on June 15 at 3:30 p.m. from a homeless camp behind Circle K on State Road 64, according to deputies. The victim told hospital employees he was robbed, and told deputies he was missing $200, a cell phone and a laptop.

Newhouse is being charged with aggravated battery and armed robbery.
