MANATEE -- A suspect was arrested on charges of armed burglary after he ransacked a victim's apartment and armed himself with a kitchen knife on Wednesday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they don't know how Enoch Suggs, 22, entered the apartment in the 2900 block of 50th Avenue West. Once inside, Suggs went through the victim's room and knocked over the TV, other electronics and the bed, according to a release.

The victim's roommates were inside their bedrooms and were reportedly unaware that Suggs had entered.

The victim, who was in Tampa, returned home and called deputies when he saw Suggs outside his apartment. When deputies arrived at 11:10 p.m., they said Suggs was armed with a kitchen knife and letting the air out of the victim's roommate's car tire.

Suggs climbed through the screen of the porch still armed with the knife, and when deputies told him to stop he continued moving towards the sliding glass door, closing and locking it behind him, according to the release.

Suggs exited the apartment on his own a few minutes later and was arrested without further incident, according to deputies.

He was charged with armed burglary, criminal mischief and resisting arrest without violence.
