HOLMES BEACH — A Pennsylvania man was charged with battery after police after a dispute over phone music, according to the Holmes Beach Police Department.

Jason Michael Barnes, 40, was arrested at 3:22 p.m. Tuesday at 6400 Flotilla Drive in Holmes Beach. The victim and a witness reportedly told police they were sunbathing by a pool when Barnes began arguing about the music the victim was playing on his phone.

Barnes reportedly grabbed the victim’s phone to turn off the music, police reported. When the victim stood up to retrieve his phone, Barnes reportedly threw him onto a lounge chair and held the victim down. Police reported there was a large, red mark in the center of the victim’s chest from where Barnes pushed and struck him.

Barnes was booked in jail and released the same day on a $500 bond.
