Military coup idea shows political frustration at polls

July 8, 2014

Mike McLeod has jumped the shark. Again. Mike is a man who believes that his time in the military gives him carte blanche to express some pretty outrageous views. In his most recent letter he is calling for a military coup.

It is not the American way to "wish and pray" for the military to remove the democratically elected representatives of the people and replace them with the "right people."

Of course, those who think like Mr. McLeod get to decide who the right people are. I'm sure the Tea Party crowd would get to keep their seats.

Those of us who believe in democracy and social liberalism should take heart. When guys like Mr. McLeod start calling for a military coup, it just means they know their side can't win elections. They know their day is over.
