— Four people were apprehended and charged as part of a retail theft crackdown by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at the Ellenton Premium Outlets.

Members of the sheriff's office conducted the operation between Monday and Thursday at the outlet mall, with numerous stores participating, authorities said.

It resulted in four people being apprehended on a total of six charges, although the sheriff's office declined to name them in a media release.

Eleven people were also identified as "prolific offenders from past incidents" and were trespassed from the mall, the release states. Additional charges are forthcoming on other people, the sheriff's office said.
