3 charged in Bradenton with selling alcohol to minors

BRADENTON -- Three people, including an employee at a microbrewery, were arrested last week during an undercover operation targeting the sale of alcohol to minors, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Three employees at three businesses were cited with criminal summonses charging them sale of alcohol to a minor, which is a misdemeanor:

-- Randi Welch, 44, 7-Eleven, 3332 Manatee Ave. W.

-- Steven Sawyers, 50, Marathon gas station, 2009 14th St. W.

-- Daniel Anderson, 22, Motorworks Brewery, 1014 Ninth St. W.

The operation was carried out Thursday by the police department's Casual Clothes Unit and the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco.
