Bradenton Council OKs $340,000 drainage project for Village of the Arts

BRADENTON - A much-anticipated drainage project in the Village of the Arts overcame its final obstacle Wednesday with Bradenton City Council approving a $340,616 bid submitted by Woodruff & Sons of Bradenton.

The project includes construction of a new stormwater drainage system in 10th Avenue West, as well as a new 6-inch water main in 10th Street West to address flooding issues and improve water distribution in the area.

The project was slated to begin in August, but an effort to save a 150-year-old oak tree in the project’s path could delay the start until September.

The project is expected to take about four months to complete.
