Palmetto cleanup group scours Washington Park ditches

Volunteers clean up Washington Park ditches

PALMETTO -- Palmetto Build and OMC groups of 22 adults and 12 teens from Barbara Harvey's Crime Stoppers cleaned ditches in Washington Park in the North Memphis Community.

The group plans to keep working with Keep Manatee Beautiful to help groups adopt blocks in those areas for cleaning.

Donors supplied tools, gloves, vests, orange juice, ice and bottled water.

Sacred Heart of Jesus photos available free

PALMETTO -- The Knights of Columbus Council No. 9414 of Holy Cross Parish in Palmetto will provide each home in the in the parish with a free Sacred Heart of Jesus along with the 12 Promises in time for the June 27 Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Knights only ask that each family place the pircture in a pominent place int heir home and honor it at least one per month, preferrably the first Friday of each month.

District Deputy Lyle Kobus and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 12155 of St. Francis Cabrini Parish in Parrish are also promoting the Sacred Heart picture with the 12 Promises.
