BRADENTON -- Two Sarasota women were charged with petty theft Thursday after deputies say they stole kids' clothing from a Bradenton J.C. Penney, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Nicole Lynn Donofrio, 31, and Taylor Leigh Kovacic, 25, were both arrested at 9:04 p.m. at J.C. Penney, 303 301 Blvd. W., Bradenton. According to a Loss Prevention Officer at the store, both women entered the kids' section and quickly started selecting large amounts of kids' clothing.

"Both females placed the store items into store mesh bags, and made their way to the fitting rooms," the report states.

According to a report, the loss prevention officer followed Donofrio and Kovacic to the area and waited for them outside. After they exited the fitting rooms with large purses, both women reportedly had no store mesh bags. They left the store, where they were stopped by loss prevention, according to a news release.

Both women were being held on $500 bond.
