"Live from downtown, it's Friday Night" will be 6-9 p.m. June 20 and every third Friday of the month featuring live performances by Sarasota's premier entertainers and performing arts organizations and enjoy shopping at a unique mix of boutiques, galleries, and salons. Onshore Offshore Boat Show: Bradenton Area Convention Center, One Haben Blvd., Palmetto

The Onshore Offshore Boat Show will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 20-21, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 22 featuring dozens of new boat lines as well as fishing gear and accessories. Captain Joe Fishing School will offer classes each day, some of them hands-on, addressing rigging lures, tying knots, throwing a cast net, shark fishing, wade fishing and fishing from boats and kayaks. Big Cat Habitat "Jam Out Hunger": 7101 Palmer Blvd., Sarasota

Big Cat Habitat, Gulf Coast Sanctuary and Bonfire Jamband have teamed up to offer an afternoon of continuous live music and fun with the animals at the "Jam Out Hunger" event noon-5 p.m. June 21. In addition to continuous music from Bonfire Jam Band and Heather Downie Band, the nationally known Mummers String Band of Philadelphia will be performing, Attendees may feed bears and big cats along with emus, goats and other animals in the petting zoo on self-guided tours. Admission to the event is free for those who bring a bag of non-perishable grocery items or make a donation to the food bank; general admission is $15 adults, $7 children.
