No more war based on foreign oil like in Iraq

June 18, 2014

The Iraq war was a big mistake. It is time to face that reality.

It is indeed heart wrenching to think that those ultimate sacrifices that our children have made will have been in vain, but the bleeding must stop.

Causing more deaths, by refusing to acknowledge this mistake, fits the definition of insanity. We must leave that part of the world to deal with their own problems.

Try as we might, we can not bomb an enemy when he or she doesn't wear their allegiances on their sleeves. We have enough problems of our own to solve.

If our standard of living is so dependent on their oil, we must rethink that standard, and force ourselves to reshape our modus operandi. It is up to us, the American people, to be engaged in this process, and not allow the military industrial complex to continue to dictate our priorities.
