Bradenton man repels knife attack early Sunday

BRADENTON — A victim reportedly subdued an attacker at 3:22 a.m. Sunday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

The victim told police the suspect forced his way into his home in the 2100 block of 12th Street West, Bradenton.

The victim said he pushed the suspect back outside the door, but the attacker grabbed a knife and began to swing it, according to the report.

The victim reportedly hit the suspect and held him until police arrived. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault, according to the report.

The name of the suspect was not immediately released.
