Across the country, one of the hottest tickets of this season has been Derek and Julianne Hough's "Move On Live" tour. It's coming to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota Sunday, and it's just as popular here as it has been across the United States.

It's so popular, in fact, that the originally scheduled 7 p.m. show sold out quickly, so the Van Wezel people added a 2 p.m. matinee. And then that one sold out too. (If you missed out, keep checking, though. Sometimes extra tickets become available close to show time.)

The Houghs are a brother-sister team of professional ballroom dancers who most people got to know through their work on "Dancing With the Stars."

They have both been nominated for Emmy Awards for their choreography on the show, and Derek won the Emmy last year. Derek has won five seasons of "Dancing With the Stars," and Julianne won one season, when she danced with Olympian Apollo Ohno.

They both went on to star in different versions of "Footloose": She in the movie remake, he in the Broadway musical.

Accounts from previous shows in the "Move On Live" tour say it's a frenetically paced and audience-pleasing blend of song and dance with little schtick. In a show in Clearwater earlier this week they danced -- sometimes by themselves and sometimes with backing dancers -- to songs as diverse as "Who Let the Dogs Out?," "Great Balls of Fire" and Pharrell's "Happy," and added cha-cha, rumba and Latin pieces.

They also sang, and engaged in good-natured Donny and Marie-style sibling-rivalry banter.

The Houghs staged the show -- which they describe as "a cross between a Broadway spectacular and the hippest, coolest dance party you've ever been to" -- with Nappytabs, the husband-and-wife choreography team best known for their work on "So You Think You Can Dance."

Details: 2 and 7 p.m. June 15, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Tickets: Sold out. Information: 941-953-3368, vanwezel.org.
