Beer-drinking Bradenton man charged with shoving policeman, victim

BRADENTON — A Bradenton man was charged with simple battery and assault on a law enforcement officer this weekend after pushing a victim and threatening police, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Brian Schaibley, 50, was arrested at 5:37 p.m. Saturday. According to a report, he was drinking beer on someone’s private property with a friend and, when asked by the owner to leave, Schaibley became vulgar.

After the victim asked Schaibley and his friend to leave the property, Schaibley pushed him and the reportedly victim pushed back.

“The defendant is the primary aggressor in this situation because he was on private property, and he was the one who pushed the victim first and then continued to advance on the victim,” police reported.

After police arrived, Schaibley re;portedly threatened them. He was being held in Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $1,000.
