Medley police are looking for 2,808 pounds of fresh strawberries stolen Friday along with a Volvo refrigerated tractor trailer. The 26 pallets of berries was valued at $25,000, according to an employee with Lakeland-based Jerue, owner of the berries. According to the report, detectives are working to "pin the location of the tractor" with a GPS though police are saying little else. A recent Target ad offers strawberries for $1.50 per pound which shows the berries could have a retail value near $46,332. Aside from the berries, the Volvo tractor trailer was valued at $20,000, police said.
