UNIVERSITY PARK -- Two more women's retailers are filling out the fashion lineup for the Mall at University Town Center.

BCBG Maxazria and MAC Cosmetics both filed applications Monday to build inside the two-level, upscale Mall at UTC.

BCBG was founded in 1989 by international fashion designer Max Azria, and his wife, Lubov Azria, later joined the company as chief creative officer. Celebrities Victoria Beckham, Alicia Keys and Angelina Jolie have all worn these designs.

BCBG has more than 570 stores around the world with 175 in the United States, in addition to dresses in Dillard's, Bloomingdale's and other department stores. BCBG also has a location at International Plaza in Tampa.

MAC, which stands for Make-up Art Cosmetics, was founded in 1984 in Toronto by photographer Frank Toskan and salon owner Frank Angelo before Estee Lauder acquired the company in 1995. The brand is also popular with celebrities including singers Lourde, Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne.

MAC also has a store inside the Westfield Southgate Mall in Sarasota, and it's unclear if that store will remain open when the UTC location opens.

The stores are adding to what's becoming a high-fashion roster of retailers at UTC including Kate Spade, Calypso St. Barth, Michael Kors, Apple and H&M in addi

tion to anchors Apple, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and Dillard's.

The Mall at UTC is expected to open Oct. 16 on the corner of Cattlemen Road and University Parkway. The 880,000-square-foot mall is being managed by Taubman Centers, based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., in partnership with Benderson Development Co.
