BRADENTON -- Officers responding to a domestic battery Sunday evening incident found narcotics within five feet of a child, according to Bradenton police.

About 9:37 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a residence in the 2300 block of 15th Avenue West. They found a woman lying on the ground across the street with neighbors, and her husband was arrested inside of their house, according to a report.

The child was found in a bedroom, "with narcotics within five feet of the child," the report states.

Officers called Child Protective Services, which said it would not respond, according to the report.

Officers took photographs of all areas that contained narcotics and briefed the on-call narcotics unit.

The name of the suspect was not included in the report.
