LAKELAND -- A Lakeland man was arrested on Saturday after deputies said he hit his brother in the face with a marijuana plant.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Rodney J. Brown and charged him with domestic battery, cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a domestic disturbance in north Lakeland, at approximately 6:20 pm, on Saturday evening.

Jackie Brown, 33, said that he and his brother had been involved in a fight which turned physical, during which his brother had struck him with “a plant from the yard.”

Deputies found 10 marijuana plants outside and drug paraphernalia inside the home. The brothers live in the home together.

Rodney was arrested and transported to the Polk County jail. He has since bonded out.
