Weapon stolen from Florida Wildlife Commission officer's truck

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Someone broke into a marked truck belonging to a Florida Wildlife Commission officer and stole a police-issue weapon and other items, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The break-in, in the 12700 block of Rock Rose Glen in the Summerfield neighborhood of Lakewood Ranch, happened sometime betweeen 8:15 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release.

The investigation is continuing, according to the report.
