Cardinals turn triple play against Blue Jays

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals turned a triple play in the sixth inning of Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, Toronto right fielder Jose Bautista ripped a liner to second baseman Daniel Descalso.

Descalso alertly flipped to second to double off Jose Reyes before shortstop Jhonny Peralta fired the ball to first baseman Allen Craig to complete the 4-6-3 triple play.

It was St. Louis' first triple play since May 5, 2005 against the San Diego Padres when Albert Pujols caught a liner, stepped on first, and fired to shortstop David Eckstein covering second.
