Deputies: Bradenton woman stole 'Febreze Melts,' bird food from Walmart

BRADENTON -- A Bradenton woman was charged with petty/grand theft shoplifting Thursday after stealing "Febreze Melts" and a bag of bird food from a Bradenton Walmart, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Vicki G. Rhoades, 41, was arrested at 3:32 p.m. at the store, at 5225 State Road 64 E, Bradenton. According to a report, the store's loss prevention observed Rhoades selecting a pillow and bedsheets and then placing "Febreze Melts," a scented wax product, inside the pillow's packaging. She then picked up a bag of bird food and placed it at the bottom of her cart.

"She then proceeded to the registers in the garden center where she paid for several items but failed to pay for the bag of bird food and four 'Febreze Melts,' " the report states.

Rhoades was booked in jail on $120 bond and released the same day.
