MANATEE A blue Nissan eastbound on State Road 684 in the right lane about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday turned right onto Wildwood Springs Boulevard in Manatee County and failed to slow for a bicyclist, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The 46-year-old male bicyclist told FHP the left front of the vehicle hit him. The driver reportedly stopped to give the cyclist a ride to a church about 200 feet from the point of impact then left the scene. The cyclist sustained minor injuries, according to FHP.
No skid marks or debris were found on the roadway. The bicyclist said the Nissan had a broken left front headlight and the driver is a 5-foot-6 white male in his 30s with short brown hair. No license tag number was obtained.
