SARASOTA -- The occupant of a house where deputies had gone to serve an eviction notice was found dead, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with authorities, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Officx.

Deputies with the sheriff's civil section were trying to serve an eviction notice on Fraser Pine Boulevard, when they heard an apparent gunshot from inside.

Deputies entered the house and found the body.

The shooting remains under investigation.
