Undercover Sarasota Police bust oxycodone operation

SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Police Department Narcotics Unit busted a woman on Wednesday for the sale of prescription drugs, according to a report.

An undercover detective purchased 50 oxycodone pills for $1,400 from suspect Tera R. Rose, 27, in a parking lot in the 3500 block on South Tamiami Trail on Wednesday, according to police.

When police went to arrest Rose, they reportedly found the $1,400 in her bra in addition to 22 doses of oxycodone and four bars of xanax in her purse. Detectives seized a total of 7.9 grams of oxycodone and one gram of xanax.

Rose is charged with the three felonies of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell/deliver and possession of a controlled substance, according to the report.

In Florida those carry sentences of a three-year minimum prison sentence and $50,000 fine, maximum 15-year prison sentence and a $10,000 fine and maximum five-year prison sentence and a $5,000 fine, respectively.
