UPDATE: SWAT ends armed Brandon standoff

BRANDON -- Deputies have ended a barricade situation in Brandon.

There were no injuries as the man surrendered peacefully, according to authorities.

According to reports, deputies arrived at a home on Larry Circle North off of Bryan Road around 4 p.m. in reference to shots heard and found a man outside of the house armed with a long-barrel gun.

The man retreated back into the house and officials are trying to talk him out.

SWAT was also called to the scene.

As a precaution, Bryan Road in both directions from Lithia Pinecrest Road to Lumsden has been shut down.

Deputies are asking residents in the area to say inside their homes.
