— A motorcyclist was killed when he ran a red light and crashed into an SUV on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Brian Casey, 31, of Bradenton, was traveling "at a high rate of speed" northbound on 75th Street West around 5:38 p.m. when he failed to stop for the light at the intersection with 29th Avenue West, an FHP report states.

The front of Casey's motorcycle crashed into the right rear of a 2012 Toyota Rav 4 headed east on 29th Avenue West, according to the report.

Casey was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Rav 4, a 70-year-old Bradenton woman, was uninjured, the report states.

Results of a blood-alcohol test on Casey were pending, the FHP said. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the report indicates.

Northbound lanes of 75th Street West and eastbound lanes of 29th Avenue West were temporarily blocked following the crash.
