Bradenton police look for suspect in hammer beating

BRADENTON -- Officers are looking for a suspect who beat another person about the face with a hammer during an altercation late Wednesday, according to Bradenton police.

About 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of Woodwinds Lane, the victim and the suspect were arguing when the suspect struck the victim in the face with a hammer, according to a report. A second victim was hit by a rock and a window was broken out of a vehicle during the fight, police said.

The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The person hit in the face suffered minor facial lacerations and was treated at the scene, police said.

"Attempt to locate the suspect were ongoing," the police report states
