Sheriff: Bradenton man arrested after pointing gun at victim's head during altercation

BRADENTON -- A man was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon Tuesday after threatening a victim with a firearm during an altercation, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

At 7:57 p.m. Tuesday, 55-year-old Richard L. Thompson was arrested after he pulled a silver firearm and pointed it to the victim's head during a verbal and physical altercation. According to a probable cause affidavit, Thompson and the victim are friends and neighbors.

Thompson pulled a small silver gun and, according to the report, said "I should shoot you and kill you dead."

He was booked in jail and was being held without bond.
