BRADENTON -- A man was able to escape from being robbed while he was doing maintenance work Friday morning, according to Bradenton police.

About 9:26 a.m., the victim was in the 2000 block of 15th Avenue East, when the suspect called him over, according to a report.

"As the victim approached, the suspect produced a glass bottle and aggressively demanded the victim's wallet," police said.

"The victim fled from the suspect to retrieve a machete from his truck at which time the suspect fled from the victim and could not be located."
